A girls Best Friend!
This Flat Iron is an essential tool for any girl.... I am in LOVE it is quick and effective and does not damage your hair.. just one swipe and you have silky salon finished hair in minutes! There is really nothing bad I can say about this product, it gets the job done well every time! I have thick curly hair and usually spend over an hour at the salon getting it blown straight. But now I can just let it air dry and then straighten with the CHI as easy as 123 it is my priceless.. has samed me $$ on Salon appts and also a life saver for those last minute outing or unannounced guests that drop in on you Now I can look fabulous every time! Great product, but missing one thing...
My wife loves this unit, but apparently the only thing she doesn't like is the fact that it doesn't have a temperature control (only on or off). If it had this, I would have given it 5 stars.

Great Iron, Loved it!
My old flat iron I bought at a drug store cost only $20, but it doesn't do anything! This one is great! It heats up very fast and is extremely easy to use. It sells for more than $120 in local stores. I paid $80 on Amazon, no tax either. A good deal!

Great...while it lasted
I bought this for my girlfriend in September of 2007. Up until that point, she had a drawer in our place full of hair straighteners that she had bought and just didn't really like (and couldn't bear to throw away since she had spent money on them and would occasionally go back to an old straightener again). Literally, almost every month she would go out to the store, and buy another relatively inexpensive hair straightener that worked, but not to her satisfaction. Seeing all the money that she was throwing away on hair straighteners, and how we were running out of drawers for her to put her old hair straighteners in, I researched into it and found the Farouk Chi. She absolutely loved it. It completely blew all her other hair straighteners out of the water. I absolutely loved it, because she seemed to take a lot less time to get ready, and I could finally give her old straighteners to Goodwill and get my drawer back.
However, there was a major drawback with the unit as well. After about ten months, it just stopped working. She had never dropped it, or gotten it wet...it just randomly wouldn't turn on anymore. Thinking it would be under warranty, I contacted the company only to find that the Chi has a one year warranty, only if you buy it in person, from a store or hair salon. If you buy it online, it's only a 30-day warranty.
All in all, I would still say it was a good buy, warranty issue aside. In our case, the hair straightener paid for itself, because it prevented her from buying a bunch of others in that 10 month span that it worked. And now that the price has dropped so much (when I purchased it for her, it was $110 I believe...today it's only $70), I think it's time to get her another one.
